October 5 Meeting Minutes

KAYCEE LADIES AUXILIARY MEETING MINUTES

October 5, 2023

1. CALL TO ORDER

PRESIDENT – Grace Cazes called the meeting to order with the Opening Prayer of St. Francis and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. ROLL CALL/NAME TAGS/MONEY BOX FINES

VICE PRESIDENT – In Julie Giroir’s absence, President Grace Cazes provided the roster to all attendees to note their presence at the meeting. Prayer requests were included on this sheet. Name tag collections were $.75. Jenny Mestayer was recognized as a guest

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING

RECORDING SECRETARY – Lynn Hitchcock reported that the September minutes were emailed to the membership on October 1 and asked if there were any corrections to these minutes as issued. No corrections or additions were presented. The minutes were approved as emailed by President Grace Cazes.

4. CARDS SENT FOR BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES, MISCELLANEOUS FOR KNIGHTS AND AUXILIARY

CORRESPONDING SECRETARY – Laura Roshto reports on cards sent, etc.

5. ACCOUNT BALANCE

TREASURER – Eretta Perrien reports expenses and account balance.

6. NEW BUSINESS ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED

  • A. OCTOBER 2023 COMMUNITY DONATION - No recommendations for October

  • B. LADY OF THE MONTH – October was Pat Mauras

  • C. BY-LAWS EDITED – issued to membership September 14, 2023. Q&A session held with only a couple of questions raised. Membership agreed to go to vote during this meeting. A motion was made by Lynn Hitchcock to accept By-Laws as edited and seconded by Amy Lawler. The motion was unanimously approved by members.

  • D. BAKE SALE – (SVDP) Grace Cazes - Amy Lawler (Chair) (Approved November 18, 19) Amy Lawler agreed to chair the bake sale. Sign-up sheets were passed out for volunteers.

  • E. 50/50 Game – Faye Coorpender - Laura Roshto was the winner. It was proposed that the 50/50 Game be named after its originator, Margaret Mannino. Naming suggestions will be reviewed/voted on at the November meeting.

  • F.Coffee & Donuts – OCTOBER 22, NOVEMBER 12, AND DECEMBER 10 (7:30 & 9:30 Mass), – Volunteers Needed (Note:Oct. 22 will be set up by Lester H. and Marty M. - Grace C. will work after 7:30 Mass; Lorraine L. and Nancy Groener will work after 9:30 Mass.) October weekend will be KCs membership drive.

  • G. ANY NEW BUSINESS - to be added to next month’s agenda

7. KC OFFICER MEETING INFORMATION

  • Seminary Raffle Tickets available ($5.00 PER TICKET) (Proceeds to Benefit Missionary Trips for Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and St. Joseph Seminary in Covington)

  • Tootsie Roll Drive (Intellectual Disabilities Fund Campaign) – October 12-14. See Mickey B. for signup to work.

  • Born to Run (Marty providing sausage po’boys) – November 4, 2023(Runner signup 7:30am, walk run at 8:30 & 5K at 9:00. Arrive at 7:00 and start boiling at 7:15. It is best to meet him there at 8:00am to wrap and serve. We will be there till about 11:00 unless we run out early (but hasn’t happened yet)

  • Christmas Party - Knights have scheduled the Family Center for Saturday, December 2.

  • Adoration Chapel times have been set for KC members. The hours are Wednesday 9-10/Thursday 1-2. Anyone is welcome to go. If you attend during those times, please sign in as a KC visitor. See Mike Giroir to sign up.

8. ONGOING BUSINESS

  • A. Sanctuary House/St. Patrick House: Laura Roshto/Lynn Hitchcock, Melinda Leblanc

  • B. Fun Things to Do – Ideas (Paula H. looking into touring Amite Church) Information will be given in the Nov. meeting.
