KAYCEE LADIES AUXILIARY MEETING MINUTES
November 2, 2023
1. CALL TO ORDER
PRESIDENT – Grace Cazes called the meeting to order with the Opening Prayer of St. Francis and Pledge of Allegiance.
2. ROLL CALL/NAME TAGS/MONEY BOX FINES
VICE PRESIDENT – In Julie Giroir’s absence, President Grace Cazes provided the roster to all attendees to note their presence at the meeting. Prayer requests were included on this sheet. Name tag collections were $.75. Geri Palermo was recognized as a guest
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING
RECORDING SECRETARY – Lynn Hitchcock reported that the October minutes were emailed to the membership on October 27 and asked if there were any corrections to these minutes as issued. No corrections or additions were presented. The minutes were approved as emailed by President Grace Cazes.
4. CARDS SENT FOR BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES, MISCELLANEOUS FOR KNIGHTS AND AUXILIARY
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY – Laura Roshto reports on cards sent, etc.
5. ACCOUNT BALANCE
TREASURER – Eretta Perrien reports expenses and account balance. See Attached Report.
Grace Cazes reported that our share of the proceeds from the Jambalaya Fundraiser was $1,217. Grace suggested that we use some of that money to purchase new t-shirts for the ladies. A motion was made by Ildi Gajda and seconded by Laura Roshto to proceed with the purchase of t-shirts for the ladies. The vote was unanimous.
In honor of Margaret Mannino, it was decided that the 50/50 Game would now be called the M. Mannino Nifty Fifty Fifty. The proceeds will be donated in Margaret’s name to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for this year. We will revisit the place of donation each year for deceased members.
6. NEW BUSINESS ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED
A. November 2023 Community Donation – Focus for $300. The motion was made by Ildi Gajda and seconded by Lynn Coco; Pat’s Coats for Kids $300. The motion was made by Pat Mauras and seconded by Geri Blazek; and St. Vincent DePaul (Baton Rouge) for $300 for Thanksgiving meals. The motion was made by Faye Coorpender and seconded by Pat Mauras.
B. LADY OF THE MONTH – October was Theresa Tracy
C. Fun Things to Do – Paula Huckabee gave a detailed description of all the beautiful things to see at the St. Helena Church. It was decided that we would wait until the weather improves in the spring.
D. BAKE SALE – (SVDP) Grace Cazes - Amy Lawler (Chair) (Approved November 18, 19) Amy Lawler agreed to chair the bake sale. Sign-up sheets were passed out for volunteers and donations.
E. 50/50 Game – Faye Coorpender -Angelique Chaney was the winner.
F. Ministry Mingle – Grace Cazes picked up the file from the Church Office on 10/9. If you did not sign up for the Kaycee Ladies Auxiliary, please go online and do so now.
G.Coffee & Donuts – NOVEMBER 12, AND DECEMBER 10 (7:30 & 9:30 Mass), – Volunteers Needed
H. ANY NEW BUSINESS - to be added to next month’s agenda
7. KC OFFICER MEETING INFORMATION
Born to Run (Marty providing sausage po’boys) – November 4, 2023 (Runner signup 7:30am, walk run at 8:30 & 5K at 9:00. Arrive at 7:00 and start boiling at 7:15. It is best to meet him there at 8:00am to wrap and serve. We will be there till about 11:00 unless we run out early.
KC Adoration Program – if you wish to attend Adoration (Wed 9 – 10am or Thurs 1 – 2pm) please contact Mike Giroir.
Christmas Party - Saturday, December 2, 2023 (Knights will provide meats – everyone else bring a dish to add to Roast/Ham) The party will begin at 5:30. If you wish to participate in the White Elephant Exchange, please bring a gift.
Tootsie Roll Drive - $1,743.40 plus donations = $1,938.00 (Final number one all donations are collected.
Thanksgiving – we are not doing turkeys with sides this year. KC are giving a monetary donation to SVDP (St. Patrick) Auxiliary has bake sale with all proceeds going to SVDP (St. Patrick)
8. ONGOING BUSINESS
A. Sanctuary House/St. Patrick House: Laura Roshto/Lynn Hitchcock, Melinda Leblanc. Laura Roshto reported that the new contact name is Adrien Honore @ 225-975-0318.
